Finding Your True Purpose Through the Sphere of Vocation

"What am I meant to do?"
"What is my purpose?"
"How can I serve?"

If you’re reading this blog, I believe you’ve asked yourself these questions at some point in your life.

Most of us spend years trying to figure out our purpose—what it is, how to fulfill it, and whether we’re “getting it right.”

But today, I want to offer you a new perspective on this:

What if your purpose wasn’t about the specific role you play, but rather about how you do what you do and what you transmit as you do it?

You could be an energy healer, a desk clerk, a stay-at-home mom, or a chef (or all of these in different seasons of your life) and still be living your purpose. Because your purpose isn’t tied to one title... It’s expressed in the energy and frequency you embody through whatever role you play.

This is the essence of the Sphere of Vocation in the Gene Keys (your Unconscious Mars in Human Design). And when you understand it, you gain deep insight into how to use your gifts to be magnetic in both life and business.

Let me share how this plays out in my own life, through my Vocation in Gate 45.

My Vocation in Gate 45 (Gene Key 45)

The 45th Gene Key moves from the Shadow of Dominance to the Gift of Synergy.

Dominance is born from the hierarchical model in which most of our modern structures—families, businesses, even societies—still operate. This model goes back to the tribal days, when early humans shifted from nomadic life to building settlements, and suddenly, controlling territory, food, and resources became necessary. In this scenario, people started to take on roles within the group, and with this came the illusion that some people were more important than others.

While today’s world no longer depends on that old model for survival, our brains are still wired that way, and the shadow of Dominance shows up everywhere, from the workplace to the dinner table.

Yet, a new way is emerging, and that is the Gift of Synergy.

We are beginning to understand that:

  • Every person matters to the well-being of the whole.

  • Collaboration is more powerful than competition.

  • Empowering people to be self-sufficient creates more prosperity than rescuing or controlling them.

From Dominance to Synergy: My Story

Like many, I grew up witnessing the shadow of Dominance in the family unit. One person made decisions and the other complied, and we, the children, had no say in the family matters.

But as I stepped out into the world, I began to meet people who modeled something different.

My boss at my last job was one of them. He had no interest in giving orders or being “above.” Instead, his focus was on empowering teams to work independently and making sure everyone had the resources they needed to succeed. A true embodiment of Synergy.

In the family I’ve created for myself, this principle is alive as well. There are no orders, no “my way or the highway.” Every decision that impacts the group is discussed openly, and everyone has a voice, including the children. Everyone’s well-being matters (mine included) because we know you can’t give from an empty cup.

But while Synergy flowed naturally in my family, embodying it in my business was much trickier.

The fear-based tendency to control every detail and prove myself as “the one with the answers” is strong.

When someone in my Mastermind asks a question in our group chat, I jump in to answer and share my insights in an attempt to help them and prove I'm competent.

And this, despite being well-meaning, has proven to be disempowering on so many levels.

First, I don't feel good doing it.
I feel a pressure to do it, I do it, and then wonder if I should have done it. An unequivocal signal of misalignment.
Second, I rob my clients of the opportunity to come to their own breakthroughs, which is a vital part of a truly transformational journey.

On the other hand, when I lean back and trust the process, trust my clients, and trust the container that I created, and focus only on nurturing a space where clients can access their own intuition and insights, that's when magic happens... That's when my clients have the most transformational breakthroughs and the space feels expansive and incredibly powerful for all of us.

That’s the Gift of Synergy at work: weaving people, resources, and wisdom together into something greater than the sum of its parts. Not "I teach you and you learn", but "here's what I know, let's see what comes up for you now that you have access to this."

When I embody this Gift, my workshops and sessions become fertile ground where people leave feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to take aligned action.

And doing this work becomes incredibly easier for me.

My purpose

So you see, my purpose is not to be a Life Coach, a Human Design practitioner, or even to help women live authentic, abundant lives. Those are simply the conduits for me to express my purpose.

My true purpose is to be a living example of Synergy.

To gather wisdom and resources and distribute them freely, empowering those I meet to thrive, for themselves and for the collective. To lead with a power-with model instead of a power-over one. To challenge the old ways of life, work, and business, and see what’s truly needed for the group to flourish.

This is what I'm here to embody in my family life, business, and everything else that I do, regardless of what it is.

What is your Vocation?

Your Vocation shows you how to best use your gifts to serve the collective, not through what you do, but through how you do it.

You can find yours in your Hologenetic Profile (available for free on the Gene Keys website) or by looking at your Unconscious Mars in your Human Design chart.

Look into it and remember: the shadow is not an issue.

It's normal to be operating from the shadow. That's part of the lessons you have to learn to access a higher level of consciousness for an easier, happier, and more aligned life.

So be kind to yourself when you catch yourself operating from the shadow frequency of your Vocation, and gently bring yourself to embracing the Gift instead. Remind yourself of it through affirmations, and really spend some time contemplating what your Vocation means to you.

Your true purpose was never about the role you play.
It’s about the transmission you bring to every role you have and every space you touch.

If you need help, I'm here for you.
